Trixie Lou's Cheesers... we (me, Trixie, Tori and Ringo) have finally perfected this dog treat recipe so that they are yummy, crunchy and good-for-your-pooch! Made with organic oat flour and brown rice flour, they are free of the ingredients that typically cause problems for our pups - wheat, corn, soy and yeast. I've added co-jack and parmesan cheese to the dough, and sprinkled some co-jack on top for a crunchy finish that our dogs love. There are no preservatives, so you'll want to use them up within a week or keep them in the refrigerator.
So what are you waiting for? Leave a comment now for your chance to win a bag of these yummies for your pooch(es). The giveaway will close tomorrow night, Monday, at 6:00 p.m. EST and a winner will be selected by none other than Trixie. Maybe. If I can bribe her to pick a name! Winners are limited to U.S. ~sorry! I can't afford the overseas shipping costs.
I have also decided to sell my "homemade with love" dog treats for the next few months. Price is $6.50 + shipping, payable via Paypal (see button to right, in sidebar), or you can mail a check. Email me at suzgarten(at)yahoo(dot)com if you'd like more information.
I hope to add a beefy and chicken flavor biscuit soon, but for the moment just the Cheesers are available. There are approximately 2 dozen medium size bone-shaped treats in the bag, which weighs between 6 and 7 ozs.
I am trying to keep the cost of shipping reasonable, but the United States postal service makes this task difficult. As long as the total weight of the package is under 13 ozs, it goes first class, approximately $3.26. If you want 2 packages, the box weight tips the scales past 13 ozs, so we'll use Priority mail, the small box rate, which is $4.95. If you want more than two bags of treats, I'll work with you to keep the shipping costs down.
Treats will be baked on weekends and shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays only so that they don't get stuck at the post office over the weekend.

Please sign me up for the giveaway. My border collie Missi would love to sample your treats!!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog, only kitties at the moment, but I have lots of friends who have dogs that I'd love to win these for! :-)
ReplyDeletePick me! Pick me! My three dogs (Eva Jean, Charity and Oliver) definitely deserve something special in return for all the love they laughs they give us!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! I have only baked doggie treats once. I should try it again sometime! Treats are so expensive, and I go through so many due to my behavioral issue with Sadie.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a treat that my dogs would love!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Are dog passed away a few years ago, but the next door neighbor's dog (who loves to wander in our yard and see what treats the little kids dropped) would be excited to see those.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'll be posting tomorrow on the story about the missing person from Alaska (Sheila McBroom) that you told me about. Thanks again for the info. and enjoy your week.
Great idea...I don't have a dog so don't enter me...would hate to take treats from a dog's mouth!!!
ReplyDeleteOrganic dog biscuits? Brilliant - well done you! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so smart to sell these! I made homemade dog biscuits with my niece one time. She thought that it was the greatest thing. Also made a doggy birthday cake with her. She thinks I'm really cool now. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have a dog anymore so don't enter me in the contest but I know these treats will make some pup very happy.
Yay, I am so glad that you are doing this!! There are going to be sooo many happy dogs. Anyone who wins this is going to make their puppies so happy, I know cause mine sampled some and they were so good they even offered some to me!
ReplyDeleteForget the pups -I WANT to taste those! They sound absolutely wonderful. And I know Diesel and Dolly would love them. If I win. And if I don't eat them all first...... those are BIG "ifs"........
ReplyDeleteI think this is just awesome that you're going into business selling these delicious, healthy dog treats. Way to go and I hope your are very successful!
ReplyDeletePlease sign us up if I'm not too late (I still don't know what time it is in my house since we did this crazy Daylight Savings Time. Two of my 'reliable' clocks batteries went dead and my other clocks weren't right to begin with. lol!).
I know Dobbie will enjoy and be so appreciative of these wonderful treats if we win.
Thanks!
~Lisa

ReplyDeleteAh..I missed it..but congrats to who ever is the lucky dog! :)
ReplyDeleteI do like to see a bit of enterprise!
ReplyDeleteDrat, I missed it. And Corky Porky Pie would love those biscuits. Unfortunately, he's a pudgy little dog already and doesn't need more weight. Still ... I could always buy him a bag for Christmas, huh? :)
ReplyDeleteWe have made pup treats a few times. J likes to sample them to make sure they are good enough for the pups! My hubby is such a weirdo...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the sweet comments about Miss D's filly. We are exahusted, have major dark circles under our eyes, and are having a ball!
I fear I may begin to bore everyone with my posts, but there is nothing else in my as exciting as this right now!!!
Blessings to you and your "herd"
Misha
