The Excalibur 3926T is, quite simply, the Cadillac of dehydrators.
The Excalibur 3900 series has 9 trays (15 square feet!) for drying veggies, fruits, fish and meats, beef jerky, fruit rolls and home crafts. Model 3926T has a timer, enabling you to be away from home when the drying time is over and the machine needs to be turned off - set the timer, and you don't need to be up at 4 a.m. to turn it off!
After all my research, and reading the rave reviews of other users, the Excalibur 3926T has earned a spot on my wish list.
What about you - have you ever contemplated the purchase of a dehydrator? If so, what would you use it for?

ReplyDeleteI have an American Harvest (somewhere??) that has never been used. It was a gift from dear son several years ago. Unfortunately I could not find it this year when I finally decided I was going to dry something (tomatoes). Soooo, I bought another one... yes I did. I went to ALDI and bought their Crofton $20 model. It works like a charm, so far :) And the dehydrated tomatoes are wonderful!! Doubt if one could tell the diff between them and sun-dried. Go for it, Susan. This looks like a good one!! -Tammy
ReplyDeleteI had an American Harvest dehydrator purchased at Wal-Mart. It is the round one. I just used it for crafts to dehydrate fruits for Christmas decorations. I think I tried jerky once. My niece now has it and uses it to dehydrate fruit to take to work for snacks.

I saw your post title and thought...Oh she is going to say the sun! You know with your lack of rain and all...I had, past tense, a dehydrator when we lived in eastern Washington state. Was always going to dry apricots from our prolific apricot tree. Never plugged it on once! Made copious jars of jam instead. Best intentions and all...
ReplyDeleteWe have an American Harvest dehydrator. And we used to use it a lot to mostly dry herbs from our garden to use all winter (we stored them in vacuum sealed jars). But we've gotten out of the dehydrating habit. We have a family member that has one like yours and she makes all kinds of stuff with it...including veggie crackers.

ReplyDeleteI have use an American Harvest dehydrator for many years, and it has never failed me. I don't do a lot of intense dehydrating though..... I dehydrate apples, bananas, pineapples, peppers, jerky, fruit roll ups, etc, but I probably only use it once or twice a month. I do know several people who have Excaliburs and they seem to love them.
